(PhatzRadio/ ) – Myra Hiatt Kraft, the wife of Kraft, died of cancer Wednesday morning.

“Words cannot express the deep sorrow that we feel in learning of the passing of Myra Hiatt Kraft. Myra passed away early this morning after a courageous battle with cancer. We are all heartbroken. The global philanthropic community and the New England Patriots family have suffered a great loss,” the Patriots said in a statement.

Myra Kraft was a prominent philanthropist in the who headed the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and the Robert K. and Myra H. Kraft Foundation. Among the many recipients of the Krafts’ giving have been universities, including Columbia, Harvard, Brandeis and , the Boys & Girls Club of Boston and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The couple has also donated millions to support the growth of football in Israel.
