
OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) – My Adonis held off Macho Macho by a half-length Sunday in the $100,000 Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Trained by Kelly John Breen and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, the 3-year-old colt ran 1 1/16 miles over the fast track in 1:44.98 and paid $5.40, $2.80 and $2.40. It was the fourth win in nine career starts for My Adonis.
Macho Macho returned $2.60 and $2.40, while Window Boy was another 10 3/4 lengths back in third and paid 2.80.
Earlier, Royal Currier edged Raging Six by a half-length in the $75,000 Mr. Prospector Stakes.
Ridden by Joe Bravo and trained by Patricia Farro, the 4-year-old gelding ran six furlongs in 1:09.38.
La Cloche wins Belmont’s Voodoo Dancer Stakes
NEW YORK (AP) – La Cloche surged down the center of the turf course to beat Wallis by 3 1/4 lengths Sunday in the $90,000 Voodoo Dancer Stakes for fillies and mares at Belmont Park.
Junior Alvarado was aboard for trainer James Toner as the 5-year-old earned her first stakes victory, and fourth win in 15 career starts. The time was 1:35.12 for a mile.
La Cloche paid $9.80, $3.90 and $3.30. Wallis returned $3.30 and $2.90, and Kiss in the Forest paid $5.40 to show.
